The painting changes with distance
I completed El Lienzo Vivo on May 17, 2026. More than 11,000 raised paint marks cover the sourced white formalwear, each applied by hand. Distance merges them into one unstable field; proximity restores every ridge, shadow, and change of pressure.
Movement edits the image
A sleeve bend changes the spacing. A lapel turns and catches a different sequence of color. The work carries painting away from the wall because the body never allows the composition to resolve in exactly the same way twice.
