The painting changes with distance

I completed El Lienzo Vivo on May 17, 2026. More than 11,000 raised paint marks cover the white suit, each one applied by hand. Across a room they merge. Up close, the surface breaks back into tiny shadows.

Movement edits the surface

A sleeve bend changes the spacing. A lapel turns and catches a different set of colors. The work never gives the camera the same painting twice.
