Studio note

First Manifestation

No Amayume proved that a private material obsession could become a continuing public practice.

No Amayume, a black formal suit densely covered with colorful wrapped candy.

The first finished work

On October 31, 2025, I finished No Amayume. Real candy covered the black suit, Gorilla high-temperature hot glue held it to the fabric, and the completed work weighed more than 25 pounds. I wore it. The wrappers rustled. People stopped.

What changed after that

The important part was realizing that an image in my head could survive the worktable and enter public life. Once that happened, Marzelest had a future.
